Peddle-Paddle Weekend
This will be our fifth aannual bike and boat weekend and they just keep getting better.  Our first day will include a bicycle trip along the Pine Creek rails-to-trails with a stop for lunch as the Blackwell Hotel.  We’ll spend the night at the Black Walnut Bottom camping area, enjoying a great meal and tall tales by the fire, then head out the next morning to kayak Pine Creek, with lunch at the Wagon Wheel. The $45 cost per person includes transportation for you and all of your gear, dinner and breakfast. Kayak rentals are available; you need to have your own bicycle and camping gear. There will also be demonstrations on snaring and predator calling.  There will be events for women as well. Miss Pennsylvania will be there at noon on Saturday to sign autographs.

This event will be the largest gathering of vendors and tailgaters of new and used trapping supplies, lures, etc., in PA.  Tailgate cost will be $50.

Great Island Adventure Triathlon
Come “triâ€? a great adventure in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds! The second annual “Great Island Adventure Triathlonâ€? is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2008, just outside of Lock Haven, Clinton County.  The overall 23-mile course takes participants along the beautiful West Branch of the Susquehanna River for a kayak/canoe paddle, followed by a bicycle road course along country roads full of grueling ups and downs and hairpin turns. The final leg of the event is a run along Lock Haven’s scenic levee riverwalk.  The Triathlon gets underway at 8:00 a.m.  Pre-registration through June 20th is only $35 per person (individuals and teams welcome). Kayak Demo Day

This is a free demonstration on the basics of recreational kayaking. You’ll get to spend time in a boat, learning paddling and maneuvering. You will also have a chance to try the Heritage and Emotion kayaks that are offered at Rock River & Trail Outfitters. At 6pm, the Park environmentalist will host an evening paddle around the lake.  Kayaks for the evening paddle will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.


2nd Friday Art Walk

Veterans Day Parade & Unveiling of Hometown Hero Mural

Celebrate Clinton County Veterans at this parade in downtown Lock Haven. The parade begins at 10 am. Line up for participating groups begins at 9 am at Henderson and Main Streets. Ceremony in Triangle Park to follow parade. The unveiling of the new Hometown Hero Mural at 100 East Main Street will take place after the ceremony on Vesper Street.
