Castanea Community Day / BEVT 5K

Castanea Train Station, 15 Logan Ave., and Castanea Fire Hall, 111 McElhattan Ave., Castanea. 8am 5K start from the Castanea Train Station. Community Day begins at 9am. The Friends of the Bald Eagle Valley Trail host their annual 5K race along the BEVT, rain or shine. Register online at runsignup.com, click on “races” and search “Bald Eagle Valley Trail.” At 9am, enjoy a basket raffle and a craft/exhibitor fair, and a breakfast sandwich and coffee sale at Castanea’s Historic Railroad Complex. View the Clinton Central Model Railroad Club’s model railroad display and tour the 1941 Vintage Caboose. From 12-3pm, the Castanea Fire Company hosts an Open House and sells food at the Fire Station, and kids can enjoy the hands-on animal program for kids, Critter Connections and Petting Zoo, at the Fire Hall. Starting at 6pm, the Lock Haven Moose Lodge 100 hosts Private Stock Trio for a free outdoor concert at their Picnic Grounds on Hanna Street (open to all), a hot sausage sandwich sale and an outdoor cash bar.
